Short-term joint staff training events

 “ICT and future virtual communication forum theatre”,

16-20 of May, 2016

The short-term joint staff training events in the Erasmus+ Strategic Partnerships for school education ”Forum theatre – a Learning Instrument for Education” took place in Iasi, Romania, between 16-20th May, 2016. Colegiul National ”G. Ibrăileanu” from Iaşi, Romania, hosted the meeting. At this event participated teachers from all partner countries: Italy, Poland, Bulgaria, Slovenia and Turkey.

The course ”ICT and future virtual communication forum theatre” aimed to achieve the first objective of the project: Developing competent teachers to use the non-formal method of forum theatre in learning/teaching activities. The project added value after graduation this course consisted in diversification of non-formal methods of teaching, training and development of teaching IT skills, communication in foreign languages, entrepreneurship.

First day

The activities started with Welcome & Opening Speeches carried out by the Deputy Headmaster of the school teacher Dorina Carapanu. They talked about the importance of non-formal education and acquiring of IT skills and wished good luck with the activities to the participants.

Then, the coordinator gave the Agenda (that included also a bag and the second project intellectual output O2) to the partners, detailed the Program Overview & Logistic. A member of the project “Water and its magical power” (another KA2 project implemented in school), English teacher Dana Busuioc presented their achievements so far emphasizing the use of ICT in their implementation. Also, Mr. Murat Mutluer presented an Overview of evaluation questionnaire about C7 activity that took place in Anamur, Turkey.

The coordinator presented the first theoretical approach about “ICT for non-formal education (usage and impact)“. The presentation ended with a debate about how much ICT has to be used in class.

Teacher Mihai Keller started the first workshop about video and photo capture where he reviewed different choices in video capture and editing, using free or open source tools.

At the end of the activities planned for the first day the guests also visited the classrooms and interacted with students and assisted to some classes.

Second day

The day started with a theoretical approach about how ICT enhanced forum theatre communication in the project, presented by Mihaela Vulpe, school counsellor. Then, it was held workshop no. 2 about how to create a trailer of a forum theatre play. There were presented online video editors (pros and cons), offline open source video editors (Openshot) and it was chosen the best current alternative (Videopad). All workshops took place in the ICT school lab and all teachers had acces to computers.

Third day

The day started with an interactive SWOT session about creating a trailer of a forum theatre play, which channels shall we use, what aspects has to be emphasized. We concluded that internet is a good way to disseminate but also trailers can be presented in classroom to students or in some teachers meeting. Two informatics teachers presented a theoretical approach about multimedia production and presentation. It continued with an workshop on information, conception and production using VideoPad.

Fourth day

In the beginning of the day we continued with the practical approach about multimedia production: information, conception and confrontation. In the afternoon the activities continued with an approach that focused on film/multimedia production: selection, assemblage (video, sound, subtitles) and editing using VideoPad.

Fifth day

In the morning of the last day we had an interactive session about the use of the multimedia and also discussed the work we have done the day before. Then final reflection and evaluation were moderated by project coordinator. There were also exchanged information about final report, next transnational meeting, financial aspects and some visibility issues etc. In the end the deputy headmaster gave the certificates and guests filled the evaluation form.
