Mini-Festival

“We dream the same dream”,

Ptuj, November 16-20, 2015

Gimnazija Ptuj 

 

 

 

 The activities of the second Forum Theatre mini festival began with the opening ceremony in the cultural hall. The ceremony gave the partner students the opportunity to get an impression of the school, history and characteristics of the hosting country. They were also invited to introduce themselves briefly. 

 

The ceremony was attended by two representatives of each class of Gimnazija Ptuj, the headmistress of Gimnazija Ptuj, the representative of Ptuj Municipality, and the press (the local television PeTV, the regional newspaper the Večer). The results and the interpretation of the evaluation questionnaire of the C4 mobility in Varna, Bulgaria, were presented by Ms Stanislava Anastasova.

 

The partner students and teachers were shown the school facilities, afterwards, they had the opportunity to present their countries in classes of Gimnazija Ptuj (intercultural meetings). In the afternoon, the participants were rehearsing in classrooms and on the stage according to the timetable. They were able to express their wishes regarding additional equipment or any special requests. 

 

The mini festival of national plays began at 13. 30 and was attended by all the 3rd-year students of Gimnazija Ptuj and their accompanying teachers. The  forum theatre plays had the subject "School problems" and can be seen here

 

The participants were invited to take part in the workshop whose aim was to illustrate the title of the mini festival: »We dream the same dream«. The clouds represented their wishes, whereas the hot air balloons their special messages to each other, to their peers, to the world. The jury, made up of the accompanyning partner teachers, decided to give out additional set of awards together with the ones agreed upon in Varna for the studednts showed great effort and achievement that deserve to be rewarded.

The plays were performed by SLOVENIA & BULGARIA POLAND & ITALY ROMANIA & TURKEY, as agreed upon at C4 in Varna, Bulgaria. The theme of the plays was ADDICTIONS and can be seen here.

 

Therefore, together with the best leading/supporting actor/actress, best scenario and best joker for two sets of plays, best costumes, substitute and distinguished actor/actress were also awarded.

 

The project team of Gimnazija Ptuj firmly believe the mini festival reached all its objectives: the students showed outstanding insight into the subject matter, a complete understanding of the forum theatre approach to a play, the level of self-confidence and self-awareness has improved significantly, as well as their mastery of the English language.
